Sickness

Eli has always been a sickly child ever since having to work in the workhouse and do other dreadful jobs such as cleaning chimneys. not only are his lungs forever shot from this but he's also stricken with colds nearly year round, including the warmer months. Sometimes even then they can be worse. Which leads him to be even more shut up in his room, huddled in blankets and sheets as he tries desperate to fight off the chills....only to break out in sweats shortly after, a maddening process.

Eventually he gives up on sleep, huddling on his bed to cry silently to himself, frustrated and tired.

(I went with a more softer look here, as Eli grows to prefer more pastel looking colours.)
